About us

Thank you for accessing the Chiyoda-ku Aikikai website. As a social organization under the Aikikai Foundation, we strive to cultivate and refine our techniques and develop our mind and body in accordance with the operational policies. Our activities are focused on promoting the spread of Aikido.

Chiyoda-ku Aikikai was established in 1972 in the Kanda area of Chiyoda Ward in Tokyo, using a sports facility as our training location. Initially, we received guidance from Mitsugi Saotome sensei at the Aikikai Hombu Dojo, followed by Seigo Yamaguchi sensei for over 20 years. After the passing of Yamaguchi sensei, we received guidance from Seijuro Masuda sensei, and currently, we conduct our training under the leadership of Chairman Takeshi Yamashima, actively engaging in exchanges with overseas dojos.

Chiyoda-ku Aikikai is home to many experienced instructors. One of our distinctive features is the opportunity to witness and experience a wide range of techniques with diverse characteristics from these instructors. Our aim at Chiyoda-ku Aikikai is to pursue the study of techniques with a broad perspective and an open mind, avoiding becoming complacent in our own abilities.
